EUGENE, Ore. -- The Tri-City Dust Devils couldn't overcome Eugene's six-run fourth inning, losing 10-8 to the Emeralds on Friday night in a Northwest League game at Eugene's PK Park.
Nelson Gonzalez relieved starter Erik Stavert (0-1) and pitched 12/3 innings, but he was tagged for all six runs in Eugene's big frame. That included a two-run triple by Travis Whitmore and a two-run double by Matthew Colantonio.
Brian Humphries drove in two runs and Jayson Langfels hit a solo home run for the Dust Devils, who pounded out 11 hits to the Emeralds' 12.
Tri-City (6-4) holds a one-game East Division lead over Boise in second-half action. Eugene (6-4) is in a three-way tie with Everett and Salem-Keizer in the West.
The Dust Devils and Emeralds wrap up their five-game series at 7:05 tonight.
