KEIZER, Ore. -- The Tri-City Dust Devils scored seven runs off 10 hits, which is usually enough to win a Northwest League baseball game.
But not on Saturday night, when the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes racked up 14 runs on 15 hits -- including three home runs -- in a 14-7 home win over the Dust Devils.
It was the fifth straight win for S-K (7-16).
Meanwhile, Tri-City (11-12) lost for the sixth time in the last seven games but still remains just two games behind Boise (13-10) in the East Division.
The Dust Devils took a 3-0 lead in the first thanks to a two-run double by Leonardo Reyes. The Volcanoes scored five runs in the second, but Tri-City went ahead 6-5 in the third on a two-run triple by Jayson Langfels.
But S-K scored five more runs in the next two innings off Dust Devils starter Ricardo Ferrer (0-2), who took the loss.
