HILLSBORO -- Behind three champions, a runner-up and eight placers, the Hermiston Bulldogs gave Roseburg a good run Saturday for the team title at the prestigious Reser's Tournament of Champions in Hillsboro, Ore.
But Roseburg, the two-time defending champion, made it three in a row and left Hermiston in second place for the second straight year.
Tyler Berger, Joey Delgado and Abraham Rodriguez each won individual gold for the Bulldogs. Berger, a freshman, took the hard road to winning the 125-pound crown, beating the second-, third- and fourth-place finishers along the way.
His toughest match came in the semifinals, when he knocked off top-seeded Peter Russo of Newberg 4-3. His final match against Westview's Cody Sabin was a smooth 6-0 decision.

Delgado remained unbeaten on the season, breezing to the 135 final with a pin and two technical falls before getting a close run from Roseburg's Reed Van Anrooy in a 7-5 win.
Abraham Rodriguez, like Delgado a top seed, had little trouble at 140, including a 7-2 win over Brandon Montague of Crater in the final.
Bryce McMahon placed second at 152, losing 16-8 in the final against Oregon State-bound Seth Thomas of Roseburg.
Curtis Berger, the top-ranked 5A 189-pounder in the state, placed third after losing 5-2 in the semifinals to Roseburg's Devan Fors, the top-ranked 6A wrestler.
Fabian Scott placed fifth at 140, while Isaac Aguilar (103) and Kevin Dopps (285) each placed sixth.
