Richland's Mars, Utecht win titles

EAST WENATCHEE -- Richland's Kyler Mars (119 pounds) and Dustin Utecht (140) won titles at the Eastmont Cat Classic on Thursday as the Bombers finished second in the team race.

Ellensburg won the tourney with 175.5 points, while Richland had 151. Hanford was 12th with 69.

Hanford's Matt Owens won the 145-pound title by decision against Ellensburg's Kamal Qteishat.

Pacific Coast Tournament: Chiawana senior Nick Garcia pinned Union's Tyler Davis in five minutes and 12 seconds to place third overall in the 130-pound weight class as the Riverhawks finished 12th out of a field of 34 teams at the Pacific Coast Tournament at Hudson Bay High in Vancouver, Wash.

Chiawana Riverhawks in Pasco won the school’s first-ever state team title in addition getting the first three individual state champs in school history at the WIAA event in Tacoma.
