3 Rivers boys soccer wins Beaverton Cup

The Three Rivers Elite '95 boys team won the Adidas Beaverton Cup on Sunday in Oregon, beating FC Portland 1-0 in the final.

Defender Kelly Smith scored what would be the game-winning goal in the second half, while James Fort kept a clean sheet in goal.

Three Rivers, comprised of players from various high schools around the Tri-Cities, went 4-0-1 at the tournament and outscored teams 9-3.

Three Rivers beat PCU United out of Portland 2-1 in Saturday's semifinal, with Nick Carlson and Will Gillen scoring goals.
