Hanford seniors notch 1st soccer win vs. Richland girls

RICHLAND -- Cari Exarhos gathered in a loose ball and booted it home from 20 yards out, leading the Hanford Falcons to a win over the visiting Richland Bombers in a nonleague match.

It was the first varsity victory over Richland for the Hanford seniors.

Scoring--1, H, Cari Exarhos 19:00. Shots--Hanford 7, Richland 5. Saves--Hanford, Emily Busselman 4. Richland, Shelby Long 0.

KENEWICK -- The Braves won a wild nonleague game at Lampson Stadium for their first victory this season.

Ellie Heiden broke a 1-1 tie with a goal in the 57th minute. Meagan Beauchene opened the scoring in the 44th minute, but the Chiefs (2-1) tied it less than a minute later on a goal by Alysha Overland. Kyra Brannan assisted both Kamiakin (1-1) goals

Scoring--1, Kamiakin, Megan Beauchene (Kyra Brannan), 44th; 2, Moses Lake, Alysha Overland, 45th; 3, Kamiakin, Ellie Heiden (Brannan), 57th. Shots--Moses Lake, 10; Kamiakin, 12. Saves--Moses Lake, Heidi Palmer, 5; Kamiakin, Sydnee Grant, 4.

Southridge 2, Chiawana 1

PASCO -- Heather Johnson and Katherine Tsoukalas scored second-half goals for Southridge (2-0) to answer Lexi Miller's goal in the sixth minute for host Chiawana on an assist from Lexi Ellingsen and the Suns edged the Riverhawks in a nonleague contest.

Scoring--1, C, Lexi Miller (Lexi Ellingsen) 6:00; 2, S, Heather Johnson (Shelby Zimmerman) 56:00; 3, S, Katherine Tsoukalas (Randi Andreatta) 62:00. Shots--S 14, C 5. Saves--S, Alexa Adams, 1. C, Shelby English 8.
