Soccer: Lee scores twice in Richland win

MOSES LAKE -- Sam Lee scored two goals, including an early tally in the fourth minute, to help Richland beat Moses Lake 2-0 in a key CBBN 4A road matchup.

"We actually had a scoring chance off the first kickoff. It would have been nice to get that one, because I knew there wouldn't be a lot of goals scored," said Bombers coach Sara Elfering.

Richland got strong play from defenders Andy Archibald, Chynna Dickey, Sydni Jamerson and Kenzie Lubeck, who helped limit the Chiefs to just two shots.

Bombers goalkeeper Shelby Long made two saves for the shutout.

"I'm pretty happy for Paige. She hadn't scored all year, and now she's got seven in the last two games," said Suns coach Riley Dodson.

KENNEWICK -- Kamiakin's Megan Beauchene and Gabby Kurz both scored for Kamiakin on assists from Kyra Brannan and Sydnee Grant had two saves as the Braves overcame the absence of four of its starting players to shut out visiting Sunnyside in a CBBN 3A contest.

But despite the lack of Kamiakin firepower, coach Chris Erikson still gave the Grizzlies props for their performance.

"I think Sunnyside is an improved team," Erikson said.
