Prosser had a chance at an overtime win over fellow state-ranked CWAC team Ellensburg, but the Mustangs’ two-point conversion failed, and the host Bulldogs eked out a 27-26 victory Friday night.
Ellensburg’s Donny Ellersick, who threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Seth Walker to tie the score with 58 seconds left in regulation, had a 1-yard scoring run in overtime.
Kason Blair, who caught two long touchdown passes from Tanner Bolt in the first half, had a 4-yard scoring reception to get No. 2 Prosser (6-1 overall, 5-1 CWAC) within a point, but the potential winning conversion pass failed.
It was a tough loss for Prosser, which struck first when Noah Flores took the opening kickoff 90 yards for a TD.
