* You'll see hints of the spread offense, but this team -- with three returning starters on the O-line -- is built for more of a two-man running game.
* Bennett is getting some looks from D-II and D-III schools for football, but Richardson likely is the team's best college prospect -- in baseball, that is. The big lineman plays first base for the defending CWAC baseball champion Bulldogs.
* The team will start out in a 4-3, cover 2 base formation and go from there. Affholter isn't averse to blitzing on defense, but he'll want to be cautious about it.
"If I feel we can cover with our secondary, we'll bring the heat," he said.
Othello and Prosser may be the favorites, but several league coaches say this is the team that could emerge as a front-runner for the league title.
"Right now, we have three or four really good kids who can make plays for us, not just on offense, but on defense, too," Affholter said. "Since I've been here, the 2001-02 team was pretty special, and 2009 was a special year. But I've got that feeling right now with this team. It's the same kind of mold."
