Quick hits

* Last season, Chiawana busting at the seams with 22 returning starters. This year, Chiawana has only a handful of returning senior starters, but all will be critical to the Riverhawks' success.

* Graff knows talent when he sees it, and he loves his sophomore class enough to start four on offense and three on defense.

* Downing has a tattoo on his left arm that reads 'Never Fear Failure', and he plays like it. The All-State running back led the CBBN 4A with 23 rushing TDs as well as scoring with 140 points.

* QB Zamora is inexperienced but he's got the same athletic genes as his cousin Miquiyah -- a preseason all-state pick.

Outlook

Despite losing a ton of senior leadership, the Riverhawks won't lose their foothold in the CBBN 4A standings. Expect another big playoff push.
