* Avery, who would have been the team's top returning receiver (13-176, 1 TD), takes over behind center after QB Zach Whitby transferred to Richland after a breakout freshamn season. Avery is a talented athlete (standout baseball player) but hasn't lined up behind center since middle school. Murillo led team in all-purpose yards (925) with solid numbers rushing, receiving and returning kicks.
* Bulldogs will be undersized, with just three projected starters at 200 pounds or more (one of those is QB Avery). But they demonstrated plenty of fight in the offseason.
* Last season's injury bug is this year's headstart, with six players on offense and eight on defense having some starting experience. Krieder and Hurley lead a veteran group of linebackers.
Four full seasons have passed since the Bulldogs last made the state playoffs (nine OTs vs. Bothell bring back any memories?).
This could be the season Pasco gets back to being a regular postseason contender. This is the most experienced team Lamb has had in his three seasons. The key will be keeping pressure (defensive and situational) off Avery while he gets up to speed.
