Here is a preview of the West Valley Rams for the 2011 CBBN 3A football season:
Coach: John Beck (2nd year, 2-8).
Last league title: 2001.
Last playoff berth: 2006.
Home field: Clasen Field.
OL-DL Aaron Beck, Sr. (6-0, 235); DL Oliver Devlin, Sr. (6-2, 210); DB Justin Ferrari, Jr. (6-0, 185); QB Max King, Sr. (6-0, 185); OL Cage Neiffer, Sr. (5-9, 225); WR Jeremy Oram, Sr. (5-10, 155); WR-DB Ronnie Roosendaal, Sr. (6-2, 155); DB Bo Voelker, Sr. (5-10, 200).
Others to watch: TE Devlin; RB Ferrari; DB King; DL Neiffer; DB Oram; DL Oravetz; RB Voelker; RB-LB Cody LaRiviere, Sr. (5-8, 205); OL-DL Robert Coch, Jr. (6-4, 235); RB-LB Kody Nelson, Sr. (5-11, 240).
* As much as Drew Loftus meant to Kennewick, Andrew Gerrick meant to the Rams. He is gone, along with his league-best 1,368 yards and 12 rushing TDs. WV fans are hoping King is on target after completing less than 50 percent of his passes and throwing more INTs (12) than TDs (8).
The Rams don't have any proven skill position players and are mostly new across the offensive line. Their defense is expected to be solid and could keep them in some games. But they will have a tough time moving out of the bottom of the league, let alone challenging for a playoff spot.
