Chiawana runs table for title

WENATCHEE -- The Chiawana Riverhawks finished their perfect regular season Friday with a 28-0 victory at Wenatchee.

Jordan Downing rushed 24 times for 156 yards in the CBBN 4A win, wrapping up a 8-0 regular season and a 6-0 run in conference.

The Riverhawks will play host to Central Valley at 7 p.m. Friday in a regional playoff game.

Chiawana, in just its second year of existence, ran the table a year after finishing 1-8.

On Friday, Downing scored twice on runs of 2 and 1 yards to give the Riverhawks an early 14-0 lead.

Quarterback Lucas Graff then went to work, throwing a 30-yard touchdown pass to Brett Adamson and a 4-yard touchdown pass to C.J. Edrington.

Graff finished 16-of-23 for 217 yards with an interception.

Edrington caught six passes for 69 yards, Miquiyah Zamora had four receptions for 56 yards and Adamson had two catches for 40 yards.

Wenatchee (5-3, 3-2) will play against Ferris in Spokane at 7 p.m. Friday.
