Preview: Kennewick at Pasco

PASCO -- Two weeks ago this game looked like a thrilled loaded with playoff implications.

But a pair of wins for Kennewick (6-2, 4-2) and two losses for Pasco (2-6, 2-4) have relegated it to a neighborhood rivalry game.

Kennewick's 35-14 win over Southridge last week combined with Pasco's 35-19 loss to West Valley settled the playoff picture. The Lions are locked in at No. 3, the Suns at No. 4 and the Bulldogs are out in the cold.

That doesn't mean there won't be plenty to watch at Edgar Brown Stadium. But don't be surprised if Kennewick QB Drew Loftus, who runs like a linebacker mentality, hands off a lot more than he takes off out of the pocket.

For Pasco, it's a chance to look to the future.

With five players sidelined by injuries, including top running back DeVaunte Wright-Lamb, the Bulldogs will start three freshmen, though one of those is regular QB Zach Whitby (1,115 yards, 11 TDs passing).
