SOFTBALL: WA Force Black goes 1-3

The Washington Force Black’s run is over at the USA/ASA Girls Class A 16U Fastpitch National Championship in Montgomery, Ala.

The Force lost 11-3 in an elimination game to Lazers Gold of Canton, Ohio.

Kayla Andrews had both of the Force’s hits and scored two runs, but the defense struggled.

After pulling within 5-3 in the third, the Force wasn’t able to catch up after Lazers Gold scored six runs in the fifth.

Despite finishing the tournament with a 1-3 record, the Force feels satisfied with its season.

“To be a first-year 16U team and to win a state 16A championship and to go to nationals, it’s a pretty good year,” manager Rob Sitsler said.
