The Tri-City Channel Cats earned nine individual titles Friday at the Tri-City Invitational swim meet Friday at Memorial Pool in Pasco.
Stephanie Tixier of Richland won the girls 100 freestyle and the 100 butterfly to highlight the local finishers. Tixier, a junior, was part of a Hanford High School team that won state titles in the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay at the 3A state championships in November.
Tixier won the 15-and-over 100 free with a time of 1 minute, 0.23 seconds to edge Lisa Bratton, a Richland High sophomore, by two seconds. Tixier (1:04.16) then topped Bratton (1:07.43) in the 100 butterfly.
Bratton, who won a 4A state title in the 200 Intermediate Medley, picked up a win in the 100 breaststroke, finishing with a time of 2:51.94.
Richland junior Andrew Blanchard blew away the field in the boys 15-and-over 100 butterfly (59.97), beating runner-up Connor Hickey (1:03.20) by 3.23 seconds.
In the boys 13-14 division, Luke Jackson won the 400 free, edging Channel Cats teammate by just under seven seconds with a time of 4:33.53.
Alyssa Musick won the 100 butterfly (1:10.33) in the girls 13-14s, edging out runner-up Cameron Smith (1:10.56) by just 23 hundredths of a second.
In the boys 11-12s, Cole Westendorf won three events — the 100 free (1:04.95), the 100 butterfly (1:14.73) and the 400 free (5:05.09.
The meet continues today at 11:30 a.m. in Pasco.
