Pedley leads strong Kamiakin charge

Justin Pedley led an impressive Kamiakin charge, recording 24 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Braves to an impressive 65-36 win over Walla Walla on Friday night in Kennewick.

Kamiakin (8-0) got off to a hot start, outscoring the Blue Devils 14-6 in the first quarter. More importantly, the Braves controlled the game inside and limited second chances for Walla Walla.

"We were able to rebound. They had seven offensive boards for the game, but only a couple early on. So we were able to get out and go," said Kamiakin coach Brian Meneely. "It's nice when you can limit teams to one shot."

Aside from Pedley, the Braves got balanced production from the rest of the lineup with eight other players recording at least one point. Kamiakin shot 28-for-54 (52 percent) from the field, including 5-of-13 from 3-point range.

"Our bench gave us a lot of strong minutes for sure. They were really good tonight," Meneely said. "It's never easy (against Walla Walla). Plus, the Christmas break games can be tough, because it takes the kids out of their routine."

Rob Ferenz led Walla Walla with 11 points.
