Connell boys edge Highland

Kennan Vanhollebeke scored on a rebound with 90 seconds remaining to put the Connell boys ahead by 1 and the Eagles held on for a 38-37 nonleague home basketball win against Highland on Thursday.

Warden 52, River View 49: Victor Flores scored 12 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter to lift Warden to a nonleague win over River View in Finley.

The Panthers led 34-28 after three quarters, but the Cougars outscored River View 24-15 in the final frame.

"We led the whole game up until the last two minutes," said Panthers coach Roger Sonderland. "We had the chance to tie it with 12 seconds left to go."

David Flores scored 22 points to lead River View, but his team hit just 5 of 15 free throws to seal its fate.
