CBBN girls: Pasco gives Eastmont good run

PASCO -- The young Pasco Bulldogs were in the hunt for their first win of the season Saturday, going toe-to-toe with an Eastmont team expected to be among the CBBN 3A contenders.

Just when it looked like the Bulldogs were going to make a run at the Wildcats midway through the third quarter, it turned out instead they got run over, 56-27.

"It was a very good game," said Pasco coach Aaron Barcot, noting a two-on-one fastbreak that could have pulled his team within 10 points instead turned into a turnover and ignited a quick five-point burst from Eastmont.

Melissa Rodriguez finished with nine points to lead the Bulldogs, who were in the game most of the way despite shooting 7-for-30 (23 percent) from the floor.

The game got out of hand in the fourth quarter, as three starters and one bench player had four fouls heading into the final quarter.
