Richland girls top Hanford 60-53 (w/ gallery)

RICHLAND — Britney Pringle scored a career-high 31 points to lead Richland past visiting Hanford 60-53 in nonleague action Tuesday.

“The girls played hard,” Richland coach Cindy McCoy said. “It was a tough battle. At times we executed real well, and at times we struggled a little bit with that, but because they worked hard and shot the ball with a lot of confidence, that’s what got us the end result.”

Pringle made seven 3-pointers on the night to help pilot Richland to its winning destination, but McCoy also credited solid teamwork for lighting the way.

“It was a real good team effort,” McCoy said. “The kids set good screens. Without those screens, we wouldn’t have gotten the looks at the basket that we did.”

Lexi Rutherford’s 15 points led the Falcons.
