Jalen DeVine scored 20 points and Joe Douglas had nine points and 10 boards to lead Hanford to a season-opening 76-55 home win Friday over Moses Lake.

Erin Braich added 15 points for the Falcons, which pulled away from a tie game after the first quarter. Hanford shot 49 percent from the field and 63 percent from the free-throw line, compared to 34 percent and 30 percent for the Chiefs.

Bryce Perez led Moses Lake with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Trenton Avery had a game-high 19 points for host Pasco but it wasn't enough as Walla Walla pulled off a nonleague road victory Friday night.

"It was a real barn burner, a lot of fun and a lot of intensity," Pasco coach Charlie Villanueva said. "It looked like a midseason game; both teams played well."

Israel Manzo scored 25 points and posted eight rebounds for Sunnyside in a nonleague road win against Eisenhower.

Greg Spini assisted the Grizzlies attack with 16 points, and Brandon Daley had nine rebounds to go with his four points.
