Pasco searching for new basketball coach

PASCO -- The Pasco boys basketball program is searching for a new head coach after Winton Lytle resigned earlier this month after one season.

Lytle led the Bulldogs to a 1-18 record after getting hired only two months before the start of the 2009-10 season.

In March, the company Lytle worked for, Columbia County Farm Bureau, was bought, and the new company wouldn't give him the leave time necessary to coach the team.

"I sure wanted to continue coaching," Lytle said. "It was hard to make this decision. But I thought I'd give the kids a chance to find a coach who could take care of the team."

The district posted the position last week, with the posting closing this afternoon.
