RICHLAND -- Junior point guard Jayven Moore scored a career-high 19 points and Sydney Higgins added 13 points and 11 rebounds to lift Liberty Christian over visiting Dayton 58-41 on Monday in the play-in round of the Southeast 2B district playoffs.
The Patriots will travel to face No. 1 seed Waitsburg-Prescott in the district semifinals Wednesday at 6 p.m.
LC lost its two top scorers -- Hannah Croskrey and Hannah Berges -- to injury late in the regular season but got it done with some clutch play from several role players.
"It's all about players like Jayven having to step up and score. She's a very quick player. She was driving a lot and hit some jump shots from the center of the key," said Liberty Christian coach Steve Dunham.

The Pats also got big contributions from posts Higgins and Amy Koller, who is 10 rebounds away from second place on the school's career rebounding list.
"She's really leading the defense," Dunham said.
