WALLA WALLA -- Jake Siefken poured in 24 points, but Liberty Christian couldn't overcome a poor shooting night in a district seeding game, losing 65-42 to Dayton at DeSales High.

The loss sends the Patriots into a must-win matchup with Walla Walla Valley Academy today (6 p.m. at LC), with the winner moving on to district play Wednesday at top seed Waitsburg-Prescott.

Dayton earns the district's third seed and plays at Asotin on Wednesday.

LIBERTY CHRISTIAN -- Jake Siefken 24, Ty. Koglin, Morris, Peterson, Crawford 3, Lindquist 2, Sitton 8, Krause, Corrigan 5, Ti. Koglin. Totals 15-49 9-18 42.

WALLA WALLA -- Jarrod Versteeg scored 13 points and Baily Rivas 12, but TC Prep fell into a big hole early and never got out in a Southeast 2B district tiebreaker at DeSales.

"We started slow, and after that we couldn't catch up," said Jaguars coach Joe Perez, adding that WWVA knocked down 10 3-pointers.
