Hadley shoots Connell boys into SCAC playoffs

MATTAWA -- Connell junior guard Matt Hadley scored five points over the final 1:30 and Kade Eppich hit a pair of free throws to ice a 37-32 win over Royal that landed the Eagles a spot in the SCAC playoffs.

Connell (9-12) earned the No. 4 spot at districts and will travel to face the SCAC West top seed Zillah at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

With Connell trailing 32-30, Hadley hit a 3-pointer to give the Eagles the lead and then drove for a layup on the next possession for a 35-32 lead.

"It was a sloppy game, but some good defense on both sides, which forced some bad shots," said Connell coach Oscar Garza. "Hadley and Kade have been playing really good for us. Our big guy (Bryant) Anderson didn't score a lot, but he played some good defense."
