Loss at Richland costs Chiawana boys No. 1 seed

PASCO -- The Chiawana boys basketball will be the No. 2 seed in the CBBN 4A district playoffs.

The Riverhawks tied Davis for the regular season title with a 10-2 record and based on a number draw, held the rights to the top district seed, according to coach Chad Herron.

However, league officials told Herron that Davis would get the top seed based on the Pirates' number of quality league victories, which would supersede the number draw.

Chiawana and Davis split their regular-season games with each winning on the road. But the Pirates swept third-place Richland, and Chiawana lost to the Bombers on Feb. 4 at Art Dawald Gym.
