Ceron leads Wa-Hi boys to CBBN win

WALLA WALLA -- Alex Ceron scored 16 points to lead Walla Walla to a 61-46 CBBN 4A home victory Saturday against Moses Lake.

The Blue Devils jumped out to a 17-9 lead after the first quarter and didn't look back.

"We shot the ball well," Walla Walla coach John Golden said. "It was a good win at home."

Matt Franz's 18 points led the Chiefs.

The Riverhawks used a big second quarter to hammer the Panthers in a CBBN 4A home victory.

Chiawana outscored Wenatchee 32-24 in the second, making 6-of-7 3-pointers.

Jordan Downing, Buddy Walter and Justin Smith scored 14 points each to lead Chiawana. Jared Jaeger's 20 points led Wenatchee.

Grady Gausman and Dallin McDonnell each hit clutch 3-pointers for Eastmont down the stretch, allowing the Wildcats to pull out a CBBN 3A road win at Pasco.

Zach Burrell scored a game-high 16 points for the Bulldogs, who lost their ninth consecutive game.

"We got a lot of layups tonight. We brought all kinds of pressure," Pasco coach Charlie Villanueva said. "We never led, but we had a chance to go up near the end."

Israel Manzo led all scorers with 25 points, and Trey Serl added 16 to give Sunnyside a CBBN 3A home win over Kennewick.

"We came out with some pretty good defense. We had nine steals in the first half, allowing us to control the tempo and take them out of their rhythm," said Grizzlies coach Ron Rowe. "That set the tone for the game right there."

Bryce Leavitt led the Lions with 19 points and eight rebounds.
