Kamiakin in sole possession of first place

KENNEWICK -- Courtney Nelson's 19 points led Kamiakin to a 52-45 CBBN 3A victory against Eastmont to take over sole possession of first place Friday in Kennewick.

Amanda Miller had 14 rebounds for the Braves (4-4, 3-0), as they withstood a furious Eastmont rally in the fourth quarter.

"Our defense tonight is what helped us win the ball game ... and rebounding," Kamiakin coach Tammy Hutchison said. "Towards the end of the game the girls got composed. They've got a lot of heart and wanted to win."
