Pasco girls beat Southridge for first win

PASCO -- Pasco's Kylie Iverson hit the game-winning bucket with 5 seconds remaining to give the Bulldogs a 57-56 CBBN 3A victory against visiting Southridge on Tuesday.

Yessica Diaz had a team-high 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead Pasco (1-2, 1-8) to its first victory of the season.

"The girls had a really tough season so far," Bulldogs coach Aaron Barcot said. "We stepped up and went and outscored them."

Southridge (1-2, 2-7) led 8-0 early, but after a close back-and-forth game, Pasco closed on a 9-2 run to steal the victory.

Southridge missed two free throws with 17 seconds left and a potential game-winning layup as time expired.

Kari Ratchford had a game-high 20 points for the Suns in the losing effort.
