Ellensburg girls push by Wapato in OT

ELLENSBURG -- Shannon Bland had a double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds and went 3-for-4 from the free-throw line in overtime to key host Ellensburg's 54-47 victory over Wapato in a CWAC 2A game originally scheduled earlier this month.

Kaitlin Quirk also helped pull the Bulldogs ahead of the Wolves in OT, hitting a bucket and two free throws.

Cierra Torp had a game-high 23 points and Bailey Schroeder had a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds as Kiona-Benton built upon a 34-25 halftime lead to defeat Cle Elum in a rescheduled nonleague game.

"It was an up-tempo game and they kept trying to run with us, which is our strength," Bears coach Joe Wirtzberger said.

Carlee Creager led the Warriors' attack with 15 points.
