CBBN boys: Kamiakin rebound, roll by Chiawana

KENNEWICK -- If the Kamiakin boys were feeling any ill effects from Friday night's double-overtime loss at Walla Walla, they didn't show Saturday in a 64-45 CBBN Cascade home win over Chiawana.

The Riverhawks had been giving the division's top teams fits the past couple of weeks, but Kamiakin jumped out to a 21-8 lead after one quarter and never looked back.

"The biggest thing we emphasized with the kids was that in the postseason they're going to play emotional games like that, and we have to be able to bounce back and refocus," said Braves coach Brian Meneely. "They did a real nice job of learning from that experience Friday night and not allowing it to mentally affect them tonight."

Justin Pedley had 17 points and eight rebounds for Kamiakin, ranked No. 8 in the state.

Miquiyah Zamora led Chiawana with 12 points.
