The Columbia Basin College volleyball team swept Treasure Valley 25-12, 25-21, 25-14 in a Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges East match in Pasco.
It was the second consecutive league win for the Hawks (6-17 overall, 2-5 league), who are in sixth place in the East. Treasure Valley (8-9, 3-4) is in fifth.
“It was a great team effort. They played tough,” CBC coach Mike Baker said. “I think it is starting to turn around. The girls are competing well.”
Grace Bouffiou had 14 digs and three aces to lead the Hawks, while Amanda Colegrove had 12 kills.
The Hawks head to Bellevue College for the Bellevue Crossover Tournament on Friday. They play Tacoma at 9 a.m. in the first round. They head back to league play Oct. 23, hosting Big Bend which is in fourth place in the East — two matches ahead of CBC in the standings.
