Richland grad named preseason baseball All-American

SEATTLE -- University of Washington outfielder Kyle Conley has been chosen as a third-team preseason All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, which announced its teams today.

Conley, a junior who graduated from Richland High School, led the Huskies in virtually every offensive category last season, including average (.337), home runs (19) and runs batted in (57). He also either led the team or shared the lead in runs, hits, doubles, triples and stolen bases.

Conley was one of five Pac-10 players to make the first, second or third teams. Arizona State outfielder Jason Kipnis and utility man Mike Leake were named to the first team, while Southern California shortstop Grant Green made the second team. Arizona closer Jason Stoffel joined Conley on the third team.
