Bellevue University catcher Jake Browne (Hanford) became just the second player in NAIA history to win back-to-back Gold Glove Awards on Wednesday as the American Baseball Coaches Association announced the ABCA/Rawlings-NAIA Baseball Gold Glove Team.
Chad Carman (Oklahoma City) is the only other player to win the award in back-to-back seasons, doing so in 2011-12.
The senior caught 43.6 percent of would-be base stealers and posted a .990 fielding percentage while starting 59 of Bruins’ 62 games behind the plate.
Browne hit .324 in 210 at-bats, including nine doubles and four home runs. He also drove in 32 runs.
