* 1987 -- Jim Ditmar singled to score Rick Swallow in the bottom of the seventh inning with two outs to give Sully's Auto an 11-10 victory over the Bears in the Richland OOO fastpitch title game. Sully's finished the season with a 15-1 record.

* 1978 -- Oklahoma cowboy Tom Ferguson, a four-time world champion, wrapped up his third all-around title at the Sun Downs Rodeo and picked up the $1,502.48 check that went with it. However, he was already on the road to his next event in Salem, Ore., when the trophy was presented that night. Not only did he miss out on the Frank Girion Suns Downs Memorial Trophy, but the $1,000 check that went with it.
