* 1968 -- The Prosser boys basketball team recorded its 25th consecutive victory and clinched at least a tie for the Valley A League title by beating visiting White Swan 98-58. The win was the Mustangs' 17th in a row this season. Bucky Bruns went 8-for-14 from the field and 8-of-8 from the line to finish with 24 points for Prosser.

* 1962 -- Theartis Wallace scored 20 points and Jim House added 18 as the Richland Bombers drubbed visiting Davis 68-40 to improve to 10-1 in the Big Eight Conference and 13-2 overall. Richland jumped ahead 12-2 early and had twice as many blocks in the first quarter (six) as the Pirates had baskets (three).

* 1943 -- Pasco swept through the six-team field to win the Lower Yakima Valley Basketball Tournament, defeating Benton City 44-13 in the semifinals and Richland 21-16 for the title.
