* 1973 -- Dick Cartmell backed into the foul lane with eight seconds remaining, dribbled, faked, and hung in the air for a fadeaway jump shot to give Richland a 53-52 victory over Pasco in a Big Nine Conference contest. It left Bulldogs fans speechless as they thought that Vernon Smith clinched the win with two free throws at the 13-second mark.

* 1959 -- Norris "Sweet Georgia" Brown posted 14 points as the Columbia Basin Hawks moved back into the thick of the Washington Junior College Conference with a 61-60 victory over the Everett JC Trogans at Pasco High School.
