* 1993 -- Richland wrestling coach John Mecham moved 168-pounder Scott Surplus to 190, where he posted a 21-3 victory over Jason Reed as the Bombers shut the door on Davis' undefeated (3-0) Big Nine season with a 39-22 win over the visiting Pirates.

* 1979 -- Pasco senior Joanne Walker and junior Karen Murray sparked the visiting Bulldogs' balanced scoring attack with 16 points apiece en route to a 61-39 thumping of Wenatchee in a Big Nine girls basketball game.

* 1974 -- Lyn Dasso, Larry Den Boer and Tom Bassett combined for 57 points as Sunnyside defeated Ellensburg 80-72 in a Mid-Valley League boys basketball matchup.
