* 2002 -- Rookie goalie Kevin Dziaduck stopped 34 shots and Jake Riddle had a hat trick as the Tri-City Americans beat the Spokane Chiefs 8-1 in front of an announced crowd of 4,972 at the Tri-Cities Coliseum.

* 1991 -- Terry Degner and Brian Sakic each had hat tricks as the Tri-City Americans defeated the Spokane Chiefs 9-6.

* 1991 -- Willie Simms scored 18 points and Wayne Tinkle had 16 points and eight rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Tri-City Chinook lost 99-90 on the road to the Wichita Falls Texans in Continental Basketball Association play.

* 1974 -- New University of Washington football coach Don James flew into the Tri-Cities to meet with the media and Husky alumni. Recently hired from Kent State, James hit six cities in Washington and talked to 15 to 20 top high school prospects in the state, all in one day.
