* 2004 -- Hayley McCoy scored two goals as Richland defeated Kamiakin 2-0 to win the Big Nine Conference district girls soccer championship.

* 2002 -- Sunnyside's Isley Gonzalez pulled away in the final half mile to win the girls 3A state cross-country title at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.

* 1993 -- Kelly Washington's goal in the shootout was the difference as Hanford defeated Ephrata 3-2 to take the Mid-Valley League girls district soccer championship.

* 1971 -- Richland (7-0) was ranked sixth in the latest AAA state football poll, voted on by the statre's sports writers. Puyallup (8-0) was ranked No. 1.

* 1956 -- Jim Smith scored three touchdowns, Fred Fields scored two, and Dave Milam, Bill Maddox and Leon Smith each scored one as Pasco's football team routed Moses Lake 50-6.
