An intriguing crossover heavyweight matchup is officially heading to Egypt as Oleksandr Usyk faces Rico Verhoeven at the Giza Necropolis beneath the dramatic shadow of the region's famed pyramids. The event streams live worldwide on DAZN Pay-Per-View and DAZN Ultimate Tier.
Usyk enters the fight riding one of the strongest heavyweight runs in modern boxing. His last four appearances include knockout victories over Daniel Dubois in July 2025 and August 2023, alongside back-to-back wins over Tyson Fury in 2024. The first Fury fight ended in a split decision after Fury was ruled down in Round 9, while the rematch was scored unanimously in Usyk's favor.
Verhoeven enters with far less boxing experience but arrives as one of kickboxing's most decorated heavyweights. Known as ‘The King of Kickboxing,' the longtime GLORY Heavyweight Champion held the title for more than 12 years and built a reputation as one of the sport's most dominant champions. His lone listed professional boxing bout came in 2014 when he stopped Janos Finfera via second-round knockout.
