Letter: Don’t aim gun control at law-abiding citizens
There is always a lot of talk about gun control after a mass shooting. It seems to always be aimed at law-abiding citizens, and not the radicalized people that did the shooting. Ft. Hood, San Bernardino and Orlando are all shootings we can’t talk about because of political correctness, but we know what happened. Law-abiding citizens had nothing to do with it.
I recently read an article from a doctor who was afraid of any citizen having a gun and maybe shooting her by accident, on purpose or incidental discharge. She says the statistics bear out her fear. I disagree, but there isn’t room here to argue that point.
All I can say is I would rather sit in a room with 100 highly armed law-abiding citizens than one liberal with a pen who wants to take away my rights or anyone else’s. I believe the second is far more dangerous.
Rights currently under siege by liberals include the First Amendment (free speech, religious practice), Second Amendment (right to bear arms), Fourth Amendment (right to be secure in our homes from illegal search and seizure), and Fifth Amendment (right to due process of law).
