Letter: Bumpy, painful rides on Dial-A-Ride buses
I just endured a ride home from my doctor’s appointment in Richland on a Dial-a-Ride bus, which for the older models is like being tied to the flat bed of a truck and driven over obstacles in the road.
If you don’t believe me, try it. If you have any painful points on your body, you will need pain medication by the time you get home.
The drivers are great — it’s just their buses are in need of shocks, springs or whatever. The sound and vibration assault you from all sides. A transit bus ride is like a limo compared to the bouncy/shaking/loud-sounding miserable ride (no exaggeration).
I guess funds for bus maintenance must be nonexistent or very limited. I’m not placing blame, just stating a fact. If you are in a lot of pain, request a Tri-City Taxi — which they contract with anyway — or take your pain medication with you.
