To: Fire Chief Rolland Watt, Benton County Fire District #6, Paterson. We cannot thank you, Catherine and Wendy enough for the service you provided our motorcycle group on July 30.
As you know, we were traveling on Highway 14 in extreme heat when several in our group were overcome with heat exhaustion. We had stopped behind the post office to take advantage of the first shade we had seen for miles. We didn’t realize how serious our condition was until we stopped.
Having you come to our rescue and insist we come into the fire station for water and to cool off saved us. Had you not been there and been so willing to help us, our situation could have been much worse. You went the extra mile making sure those affected the most were safely taken to Kennewick, where we were staying that night.
You are wonderful examples of the service firefighters provide to those in need. You could not have been more accommodating. You were genuinely concerned for those in our group who were suffering.
