David Espo’s op-ed piece — “GOP against Iran deal, with or without reading” — chided Republicans for not supporting Obama’s Iran arms deal, stating that (according to him) they hadn’t read the details yet.
He then gave reasons why he felt the deal was a good one. Evidently, op-ed writers are privy to more details than sitting senators and congressional representatives and well-connected presidential candidates.
He then states the biggest miss by Republicans is that they wanted Iran to make changes and had ignored that Obama had said he wasn’t negotiating for a change in their behavior. Say what??!! We didn’t expect behavioral changes from a government and its citizenry that are the biggest sponsor of terrorism in the world?
No change of calling for “Death to America” and “Death to Israel?” No change for a country that holds violent protests after a cartoon of Mohammed runs in a newspaper? No change for a country whose religion (their words, not mine) allows deceit against its enemies if it furthers their cause? No change for holding four U.S. citizens in prison?

Any deal that didn’t call for at least some change of their behavior should have been dead in the water.
