As a parent of a child at McGee Elementary School, are you aware that the city of Pasco is considering allowing Verizon Cellular to build a tower at the South end of the school/playground?
Cell towers emit RF/EMF 24 hours a day, and studies do not agree on the distance required for safety. Europe requires these towers to be at least 1,500 feet from playgrounds. This will be 1,000 feet. California schools are trying to pass legislation requiring a one-mile barrier. The FCC says our planning commission cannot take the safety of your children into consideration.
Please come to the next meeting in August and suggest the committee fight this installation with one of the many valid and legal reasons to deny Verizon the right to endanger your kids, and ruin our neighborhood. Please contact friends, parents and other Pasco residents.
I will also encourage anyone in the area of the McGee reservoir, park and school to attend. You’re facing a possible reduction of 20 percent to your property values.
