On July 20, Hawthorne Court — the independent and assisted living community — had a special “Beanbag Baseball” game.
They were honored with three Dust Devil members who came to play with them: Travis Radke, Elvin Liriano, and Jason Bravo. Elvin and Jason were on one team with members of Hawthorne Court and Travis was on the other team. They were having as much fun as the residents, who were thrilled that they were there.
So was I, along with my son who lives in Kennewick, and my brother and his family who are from Oklahoma, and my cousin from Hawaii, all cheering on my mother, their grandmother and great-grandmother and aunt, 93-year-old Faye Hardaway. We found out the resident players call her “Home Run Hardaway.”
The residents on each team had many home runs, third-base hits, and a few fouls. In the end Travis’s team won with a one-throw home run from "Home Run Hardaway."

What a wonderful morning! I just want to thank Travis, Elvin, and Jason, the Dust Devils who graciously gave time to these elderly residents, including many pictures afterwards. God bless you!
