On behalf of United Way of Benton & Franklin Counties’ staff and Board of Directors, we would like to thank local union representatives who participated in the annual Unions for United Way on June 27.
Volunteers from Local Union 598 and the general community completed building improvements and painting at United Way’s main building and training center. The training center was built by community volunteers many years ago and has since been used by nonprofit organizations and public entities for meetings, trainings, workshops, and seminars of many types. It is a great resource for our community.
Thousands of people use the training center every year, so the work done by these union representatives will reach far beyond the building walls. What was most impressive was the desire to go above and beyond on what was one of the hottest days of the year.
Jimmy John’s also provided lunch for all the volunteers. We have such a generous and giving community. Thank you!
