I would like to express on behalf of myself (Rockey Stoddard), Ernie McCauley, Bernard Fineberg, Jim Delp, Robert Holmes, Ken Cronk, Spencer Oland, Gerald Kenner, Gene Ayers, Terry Lucas, and family members who were present, a very heartfelt appreciation and thank you to the person/persons who paid for our meals.
On Memorial Day, we as a group went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch and enjoy their Monday 30% military discount. When it was time for our checks, our waiter told us a person he was waiting on expressed that he wished to pay for our meals as a way of saying thank you for our service.
This was an extremely stunning but heartwarming surprise as most of us are Vietnam and Korea veterans. Although we survived the Vietnam War, we never received a “Thank You” or “Welcome Homecoming” from the public. Only in the last few years has the populace approached us and put out their hands and offered a thank you for your service and welcome home; the Tri-City community goes above and beyond support and appreciation for veterans.
Again, thank you. Also thanks to Texas Roadhouse and their employees for their gracious hospitality and support for us veterans.
