Nudity: an art form or obscenity? This topic has been a source of controversy in our society, especially as the need for censorship has become more and more rampant. The body isn’t something that should be so widely criticized and condemned.
The unclothed body isn’t something we humans should be ashamed of. After all, in the Book of Genesis, humans were placed on the Earth in the nude. We were intended to go without being covered, were intended to be comfortable in our own skin. That only changed because of the sin Eve committed. Only because of sin are we humans bashful of our bodies.
The human body is natural and extravagant. We as people should not be so ashamed as to condemn and control every bit of skin that is exposed, be it in media, art, or the real world (that doesn’t mean everyone should run around naked in public though). Everyone, at some point in their lives, learn about the opposite gender’s bits and pieces. Why should it be such a big deal when we learn? If individuals really have such a problem with the naked body, they should avoid it; censor themselves, not the entire country.
